The Foundling Baby project was launched in 1999 by the SterniPark association to support mothers in distress and save lives. To bolster this effort, the “Foundling Baby for Mothers in Need” foundation was established in Hamburg and recognized by the Senate Chancellery.
The project addresses the dire situations where babies are secretly delivered in unsafe conditions, with mothers feeling hopeless, overwhelmed, and alone. This includes young Muslim girls fearing family repercussions, rape survivors who dread recognizing their child as a reminder of their trauma, and women from seemingly normal backgrounds who fear their future with a child.
